ELIGIBILITY
You must meet the following criteria to apply
Miss Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 27 by the date the pageant takes place. Must also be a high school graduate or in your senior year in high school.
Teen Applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 17 by the date the pageant takes place. Must also be a high school student.
Princess Applicants must be between the ages of 5 and 10 by the date the pageant takes place. Must also attend elementary school.
- You must live, work, or attend school in New Jersey
- You must be single, never married, and must have not given birth to a child.
- You must be a natural born female
- You must be a citizen of the United States

- You must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
at the time of application
- You must be in excellent health and committed
to service

Note: Should you be selected, you must be prepared to prove that you actually meet all of these criteria. Please have the proper documents available (i.e. School Transcripts, Birth Certificate, Valid State ID, etc). If necessary, contestants may be subject to a Background and Reference Check.
JUDGING CRITERIA
The Miss Black New Jersey USA Pageant judges based on the following:
Miss Contestants
The Miss Contestants will be judged in 5 areas of competition. The scores from the preliminary phases of competition will contribute towards the final results.
- Personal Interview
- On Stage Question and Answer
- Talent

- Evening Gown
- Personal Fitness

Teen Contestants
The Teen Contestants will compete in 4 areas of competition during our preliminary competition. The winners will be selected based on their scores during preliminaries.

Note: On pageant night all Teen Finalists will be presented in their evening gowns on stage and the winner will be announced then.
Princess Contestants
A Head Princess will be selected based on the following criteria. The winners will be selected based on their results at preliminaries.

- Peer Selection

- Fundraising Participation

Note: On pageant night all Princesses will participate on stage and the Head Princess will be announced then.
PRIZES
Prizes and Opportunities for Contestants Include:
- All applicants will receive a complimentary ticket to the pageant.
- All contestants will receive gifts to commemorate their experience.
- Superlative awards will be announced on the night of the pageant.
